(Luke 18:10-14)
Since the temple was the center for worship, people who lived near Jerusalem often went there to pray. However, many times the Pharisee's attitude was not one of prayer. He often went to announce to all within earshot just how good he was. The tax collector, however, went recognizing his sin and begging for mercy.
