The filming of JESUS was accomplished on a mammoth scale. Apart from a huge technical crew and 45 featured actors, thousands of extras had to be moved from one Biblical location to another. In all, more than 5,000 extras worked a total of 163,000 "extra days" on the production, which took seven months of principal photography.
